Hope you’re enjoying your weekend and will get some time to relax.
Here at IK, Saturday mornings are totally sacred and nothing gets done until my better half and I have had some coffee and a read of the newspaper. Heaven.
This morning I chose some sliced banana and kiwi plus a little handful of pecan nuts and some leftover granola bar to go with my oatmeal. I’ve also just started using white chia seeds (I normally buy black ones) and I have to say they taste great.
Chia seeds have a wealth of benefits for our health and to save time, I’ll list a few of them below:
- They contain Omega 3 fatty acids. We could all do with upping our intake but it’s particularly important for vegetarians and vegans who don’t get it from oily fish for example.
- They contain minerals such as calcium, magnesium and manganese which help guard against hypertension and help you keep your weight on track.
- They make you feel fuller and more satisfied.
I’m off now to eat this bowl and get back to reading the newspaper :).
