It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!  Despite the fact the weather is miserable here in Brooklyn today, we’re full of the Christmas spirit.  My better half  went to one of the English food stores in Manhattan yesterday to stock up on traditional English Christmas items (mince pies, christmas crackers and sugar mice) as well as some cream Sherry for the big day.  He nearly bankrupted himself buying these rare imported items but hey ho, it’s once a year right?

I like to serve a variety of tapas style dishes for entertaining this time of year.  It’s easy to prepare, allows guests to serve themselves & is much more relaxed.  In this photo I’ve got some vine tomato bruschetta, a variety of Italian hams and salami, some nice cheese and a big salad made with roasted cauliflower, sweet potato and pomegranate seeds.  It all went down a treat.

The salad is a great mix of super nutritious ingredients with the cauliflower, sweet potatoes and pomegranate seeds containing a decent amount of vitamin C as well as fiber.
