For as long as I can remember in my family, a hearty garden salad has graced the lunch or dinner table as a side dish to whatever we’re eating. Long before the medical and nutrition professionals started recommending that we eat a variety of vegetables each day for optimum health, we were eating salads with all our meals as a daily occurrence.
We’re currently visiting my side of the family here in England and this staple of family meals has been making its appearance regularly. It probably sounds very simple but we all love it and plus it bulks up your plate with nutritious & satisfying ingredients!
You can include any raw vegetable you like but it’s preferable to make it as colorful as possible to get the benefit of all the fantastic immunity boosting nutrients that brightly colored vegetables contain. Happy Salad Days!
Yep, that’s pretty much what my salads look like but I add orange or yellow bell peppers and black olives! Good for you on your salad intake!
Yes I love colored bell peppers too 😀👍
My family are exactly the same, we have a big bowl of salad with everything haha 🙂 always the way!
It’s a great way to stuff the veggies in! Thanks
