We’re all a bit guilty of comforting ourselves with things we REALLY like to eat (sugary treats, fatty foods etc.) when we’re stressed out. It makes us feel better right? Well yes for a while but then unfortunately this usually leads to our bodies becoming even more stressed as the unpleasant after effects of these junk foods take effect.
There is however some relief from this and this really useful article from MBG outlines how to avoid the go-to unhealthy stuff and start reaching for the food that can actually relieve anxiety & stress in a more effective way.
There’s always exercise too. I find if I get out of the house and take a walk or go for a run, I can relieve some of my stress that way.
